Individual
Counseling
Health & Harmony offers individual counseling treatment in a safe, confidential, and neutral environment. Individual counseling can help you identify aspects of your life you would like to change, better understand yourself and others, explore feelings, or work through challenging memories, trauma, or mental health difficulties.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of treatment that focuses on examining the relationships between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT theory suggests that our thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and behavior are all connected and that what we think and do affects how we feel. By exploring patterns of thinking and beliefs that lead to self-destructive actions, we work with you to modify patterns of thinking to improve resilience and develop safe and effective coping skills.
Expressive Art
Therapy
Expressive Art Therapy (EAT) is used as a complement to our traditional mental health treatment. We incorporate this therapy to ensure treatment on both left and right sides of the brain. EAT can utilize various expressions of creation including music, movement, sound, storytelling, crafts, and visual art to express an individual’s emotions through imagery. Art therapy is often used with children to help them express things they cannot yet verbalize but it also helps adults struggling with anxiety to express their experiences. This approach helps to manage behaviors, process feelings, treat and unpack trauma, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase self-esteem. Creating art can help you acknowledge and recognize feelings that have been lurking in your subconscious.
Group Talk
Therapy
Our Group Talk Therapy (GTT) takes place in a quiet and intimate setting. GTT can be used to treat a variety of conditions including emotional trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. GTT is a proven effective method of counseling. Its success is explained by the biological necessity of human beings to communicate with one another. Many empirical studies suggest that group therapy is effective for a variety of patients. It is particularly effective for anxiety and social-phobic illnesses. Many patients benefit from therapeutic healing taking place in a social setting. The power of group therapy is in the recognition that the sufferer is not alone. An admission that other people have similar thoughts, feelings, and experiences is one of the first steps to feeling healthy again!
